Message from Mayor Don Clarke
On
behalf of the Town Council and citizens of Berwick, I welcome you to
browse our web site, and extend to you an invitation to come to Berwick
to visit with us. Berwick is a small town centrally located in Nova
Scotia’s beautiful Annapolis Valley, just off Highway 101 at Exit 15. It
is the Apple Capital of Nova Scotia and has a long history in the local
apple industry.
The town is safe, affordable, and boasts an excellent quality of life. Say goodbye to traffic during your morning commute…Berwick requires only one stop light! Berwick is home to a range of diverse shops, restaurants, farmers’ market stands, and is only minutes away from the valley’s two Nova Scotia Community College campuses and Acadia University.
The town provides a vast array of recreational programs and facilities, including a state of the art recreational and community complex called the Kings Mutual Century Centre. The centre currently has an NHL-sized arena equipped for sledge hockey, a 200 metre walking track, and a large community hall run by the Berwick & District Lions, which can be divided up for meeting space. The centre will progress as more phases are added, further expanding the Town’s recreational offerings.
Berwick is also home to a health clinic, called
the Western Kings Memorial Health Centre, which provides a range of
different medical services to residents of the Town and its surrounding
areas. Berwick is far enough from the hustle and bustle to be a relaxing
locale, but central enough that only a short drive is required to get
anywhere in the Annapolis Valley, including the beautiful Bay of Fundy!
Berwick is located only 90 minutes from Halifax and is accessible by
Kings Transit. Come to visit or stay, and see why Berwick is Nova
Scotia’s fastest growing town!*

Mayor Don Clarke
