The Recreation Department is involved in a number of Special Events throughout the year including:

- Volunteer Awards Night (April)
- Sports Hall of Fame (June)
- Canada Day Celebrations (July 1)
- Town-Wide Yardsale (July)
- Gala Days (Labour Day Weekend)
- Sports Day in Canada (September 17)
- Terry Fox Run (September)
- Haunted House (October)
- Christmas Celebrations/Parade (November)
