Planning & Development

planningCommunities that are well-designed and planned attract jobs and investment. The Town of Berwick promotes sound infrastructure planning, environmental protection, economic development, and safe communities. Through the policies of the Municipal Planning Strategy (MPS) and Land Use Bylaw (LUB) regulations, lands within the Town are zoned for specific uses. Efficient planning is also designed to make the best use of the Town’s infrastructure (streets, water, sewer, and electrical).

Land use planning and development in the Town of Berwick is managed by 4SITE Group. 4SITE Group is a small, dynamic Nova Scotian company specializing in the provision of comprehensive planning, project management, development, and environmental and earth sciences consulting services. Questions regarding Rezonings, Development Agreements, and By-law Amendments should be directed to 4SITE Group.

Also integral to the Town of Berwick’s planning and development is the Town’s Planning Advisory Committee. This advisory committee to Council works with 4SITE Group to provide discussion, input, and decision-making for the Town’s future.

For more information go to Planning Advisory Committee.
