Berwick Sports Hall of Fame
The Berwick Sports Hal of Fame will be hosting it's 13th year of celebrating Community Sport Heritage on Saturday, June 4th. The Recognition and Induction Ceremony gets underway at 7 pm. Prior to the event at 6 pm will be tours of the new Kings Mutual Century Centre and the traditional viewing of memorabilia. This year's inductees are:
Dunachton Gale, a three time winner as Atlantic Canada Horse of the Year.
Jim Keddy, one of Berwick's great builders of sport.
Cyril Kinsman - Manager of Berwick's Arena for almost 25 years.
Wilfred Hoare - an Athlete in his younger years who went on to be a coach, mentor, friend and inspiration to generations of athletes of all ages.
Robert Clark - one of the finest athletes of his generation.
1979/80 Berwick Lions Juvenile Hockey Team and 1966/67 Berwick Shell Junior HockeyTeam.
The Recognition component will also pay tribute to the many athletes, coaches and teams that have had a special accomplishment over the last year. This year a special tribute will be made to Boxing Coach Nancy Chittick for her amazing comeback. Everyone is welcome and a free will offering will be accepted at the door.
