We apologize for the traffic disruptions and noise on Commercial St. due to construction. Residents, visitors and businesses should be aware of partial or full detours needed as this project progresses.
This is stormwater/sewerwater infrastructure renewal, project estimated to cost $1.2M, with 1/3 funding coming the Province of Nova Scotia, 1/3 from the Federal Government and the rest from the Town's tax dollars.
The project is a major one and should take up most or all of the summer months. We are replacing the complete run of stormwater and sewerwater pipes from Cottage St. to the new fire hall. Lateral pipes connections to homes and businesses will also be replaced.
Any questions or concerns, please contact Gary Gould, Superintendent of Public Works (538-8717) or Bob Ashley, Chief Administrative Officer (538-4007). You can reach either by email at
